Michael graduated from University College Dublin in June 2007 and went on to spend over two years at a mixed practice in the south of Ireland. A desire to travel and broaden his veterinary experience brought him to Australia in 2009 and he hasn’t managed to get home since! He has worked in small animal, mixed and equine practice across three states (QLD, VIC and NSW), with his most recent post being a hospital intern at the Randwick Equine Centre.
Despite enjoying the variety of mixed practice, his main passion has always been for horses with particular interests in the fields of preventative medicine, reproduction and poor performance investigation. Outside of work, Michael is a keen follower of most sports, particularly Gaelic games, rugby and horse-racing. He also enjoys the challenge of staying upright on his surfboard from time to time.
