Phoebe Robards - Western
Background:
"I started riding horses at the age of eight when I lived in the Blue Mountains, and every Saturday I would go down to the Kanimbla Valley and spend the day riding and looking after the horses at Centennial Glen Stables. During this time I was saving to buy my own horse. In 2010 and at the age of ten we moved down to the South Coast. I bought a black 4 year old Australian Stock horse gelding known as Mystic Moon Kelly (Storm). Since then, I have been competing at Agricultural Shows around NSW, Pony Club events at home, regional and state levels which include Gymkhanas, State Team Sporting, Mounted Games, Team Sorting, Sporting and Campdrafting. I have also competed at and attended our local Ulladulla District Rider events and team sorting. However, my main focus over the last few years has been competing in the ‘Australian Stock Horse ring’ and different ASH events.
Another main focus and love of mine has been competing in the Stockman's Challenges, such as the 'Battle on the Bidgee' and the 'King of the Ranges'. I placed in the top 10 in Striplings, and I have been competing in the Juniors over the last few years. These challenges include; bareback obstacles, whip crack course, cut out and cattle work, pack saddle (packing and course), shoeing, cross country, and a dry working pattern.
Last year I saved up and bought my second horse, an 18 month old Australian Stock Horse filly, which I have broken in myself and have now begun showing/competing on.

This coming year I have many goals for my riding. I am planning to compete in many ASH Branch shows, the ASH Youth Nationals, the ASH Nationals, the summer program of Agricultural shows, campdrafting, and the Junior section in challenges such as 'Battle on the Bidgee', 'King of the Ranges’, ‘The Man from Snowy River’, ‘Coolamon Challenge’, ‘The Man of the Land Challenge’, and a variety of Pony Club State and local events.
Whilst competing in these events on Storm (my main horse), I am going to further educate my 2 year old filly and start to compete with her in Agricultural shows and branch shows.
I have ridden and competed on many different horses of different ages and levels furthering my experience. I am deeply committed to my riding and the training and competing I do with my Australian Stock horses. I am currently employed to give riding lessons and work/train other people's horses and enjoy volunteering at any events held by ‘Willinga Park’."

NSW State ASH youth show and CCASH 49th Annual Branch Show
Mystic Moon Kelly (storm)
In October 2021 Phoebe competed at the NSW State Australian Stock Horse youth show and at the CCASH 49th Annual Branch Show. As you can see, she and Storm were beautifully turned out.
Now that shows have finally started back Phoebe will be competing at several Ag Shows. She started with the Nowra Show in early February and is looking forward to the branch shows and camp drafts coming up over the following months.
Phoebe is also looking forward to taking Storm to the ASH Nationals which is held in March.
